Comprehensive Eye Exams:

Assessment of the health and functioning of your eyes and determination of whether glasses are needed. Testing includes visual acuity, eye muscle coordination, pupil function, color vision, spectacle refraction (glasses prescription), intra-ocular pressure (glaucoma test), lens clarity (cataract check), and retinal health with or without pupillary dilation.  Ultra wide field digital retinal photography is available. Regular eye exams ensure proper visual functioning and good ocular health.  We recommend that children who wear glasses, contact lens wearers and patients over 60 be examined yearly and adults be examined every 1-2 years, depending on the patient’s medical history or family history of eye disease.

Medical Eye Care

Dr. Longo Williams has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of eye conditions such as dry eye, conjunctivitis, ocular foreign bodies, contact lens related red eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, and floaters.  She can perform annual retinal examinations for patients with diabetes or high blood pressure to screen for retinopathy.   She is available for same day and after hours emergency eye care.

Contact Lens Evaluation and Fitting:

The contact lens evaluation is an extended service which involves taking eye measurements, evaluating tear film and sufficient oxygen flow to your eyes and then selecting the proper contact lenses based on your individual visual needs. Your contact lenses will be evaluated to make sure they are fitting properly and providing good vision.  A digital map of the cornea called a corneal topography will be performed and analyzed to evaluate corneal health. The contact lens fitting may be completed in one visit or several visits depending on the complexity of the prescription.
